In October 2012 with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Botswana the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) carried out a study to assess the Botswana legal and policy environment affecting access to affordable medicines in Botswana. A focal area of the legal and policy analysis was how the country has domesticated the public health related provisions of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
