Poverty Reduction

  • This project provides capacity building support to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) to support the institutionalisation of Local Economic Development (LED) as framework through which the public, business and non-government sectors work together to strengthen local economies in order to achieve rapid, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, create decent jobs and improve the quality of life for all.

  • The project aims to strengthen technical and institutional capacity to develop, implement and monitor inclusive/pro-poor development policies and strategies in key government departments in particular; the Poverty Eradication Coordination Unit (PECU) in the Office of the President and the Poverty Statistics Unit at Statistics Botswana.

HIV and Development

  • The project is aimed at strengthening coordination, planning and management capacity for effective HIV/AIDS and health service delivery. Activities under this project are aimed at; developing plans for service acceleration and managemet, harmonizing and strengthening funding and programming efforts, institutionalizing mainstreaming efforts as well as the establishment of information management systems.

  • The project is aimed at addressing stigma, discrimination, gender and other social barriers to the access of SRH and HIV and AIDS related services by focusing activities on stigma and discrimination and generation of strategic information. To generate strategic information on SRH and HIV and AIDS related services, a pilot project is being conducted with an intention of documenting lessons learnt on Addressing Social Issues Surrounding Implementation of the Prevention of Maternal to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV Programme in Kweneng West District, Botswana.
