UNDP Biogas Project Trains Vocational Training Institutes on Small-Scale Biogas Digester Construction

Apr 25, 2018

Biogas Project has invited Instructors from the Vocational Training Institutes in the South-Eastern Botswana with the aim of the training Brick laying and Plastering Instructors on how to construct a small-scale digester which can be used to produce biogas for cooking, heating, lighting and to generate electricity.

The training is one of the components of the project which aims to strengthen Institutions and build capacity for biogas investment and improved agro-waste management. The training seeks to build capacity of Instructors in Brigades, Construction Industry Trust Fund (CITF) and Madirelo Training and Testing Centre.

The training will equip the Instructors with knowledge on how to construct, operate and maintain a fixed dome small scale digester. With the knowledge received the Instructors will then impart knowledge on the trainees in their institutions.

The training started on the 16th April and will end on the 24th April 2018.

The Biogas Project will continue to build the knowledge on the construction, operation and maintenance of small scale digesters in Botswana. This was made possible with funding from GoB (Government of Botswana), UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and GEF (Global Environment Fund).
